Gail: If you have not done so already, please call 800 LEMON LAW. We will be glad to discuss the situation with you and see if we can help. What recourse do I have? Class action lawsuit? Dealer lawsuit? I was told today to LIVE without the system working. The MFT/SYNC is riddled with problems- it has been in service three times now. I was told by the dealer that all SYNC/MFT issues were fixed on the 2012… Basically, they sold me the vehicle Nader fraudulent conditions. I bought a 2012 Ford Edge Limited that I purchased on Dec. Please call us at 1-800 LEMON LAW and we will be glad to help you. I’m sick of the dealerships BS and I have now contacted the attorney general and a local news station. My car is half paid for, and I feel like this is going to come back to bite me in the butt. I bought the car in August and have had an issue since the first week of owning it. The only difference is that my dealership is in MA. Oh my goodness…it seems like you logged in for me and already typed my complaints. In short, Sinc SUCKS… FORD has NO repairs for it other than running with your money. Had I known that I was paying for SINC and that there is MAJOR problems with the system, that Ford would not replace the vehicle, that all I would receive is glib stalling, I would not have bought it. In short, a dealership will take your money and you will be stuck in a heartbreaking circle whereby you will gain NO satisfaction from Ford nor the dealer. I have now been without my 2011 F-XLT 150 for five weeks not including eight other days when the sinc was supposedly undergoing repair. It is still sitting there as I refused to take it home without repair. at the dealership though they did give me a ‘driver’ while the truck was in their service. They tell me I have to live with the problem!

The vehicle is completely paid for and I have asked them to replace it on a buyout. They say it will be the end of January if and when they find a solution. I’ve been informed that I’m to live with the problem of NO sinc.no USB and erratic service until they figure it out at Ford. It has been in the dealership three other times for days with a sinc defect that I’ve now been told there is NO repair at the moment. My vehicle, a Ford 2011 f-150 XLT with 3000 miles, has been in the Ford dealership here in Albuquerque for three weeks. Often the problem with new technologically advanced innovations is that they provide more room for error, and service advisers do not know how to fix the issue.

It even communicates with the driver when something is going wrong within the vehicle and connects directly to 911 if the airbags deploy.

Sync has a lofty goal, serving as an all-in-one unit that allows you to make hands-free calls, receive audible text messages, connect to google maps, and control your music settings.

You'll see a link that advises what the update provides. When Ford and Microsoft teamed up to put together the ultimate entertainment and communication system, it received a tremendous amount of positive press. The current update is 12P and will cost you $200 (+ shipping). If it has the original maps it may be worth it to update.

There is a full Sync history link on that page to the right that will tell you the details of the updates (or what they want to tell you about them anyway).Īs for maps, that's a totally different story. It will take you to a page that will let you know if your Sync is up to date or not. Once you have your vehicle registered, you'll see the link to the right that says "Update Sync Software". The '07 has a different head unit so yours might be a different version. Go to the ford syncmyride site, register your truck and you'll be able to see if there are any software updates for it.
